Iyadh El Kahla

Iyadh El Kahla is a young scholar with a focus on social sciences and cultural studies. He is currently pursuing a Cotutelle Doctorate in Cultural Policy and Art Mediation at the University of Hildesheim in Germany, in partnership with Aix-Marseille University in France. In addition to his academic pursuits, Iyadh El Kahla works as an academic assistant and coordinator for the DAAD-funded [Tawasol] Cultural Production and Policy Network, which examines the role of the arts within society.
His research centers on the cultural policy and mediation landscape in Tunisia following the 2011 revolution, with a particular emphasis on emerging alternative cultural phenomena and the challenges facing the musical sector as a key element of Tunisian cultural policy. Moreover, his academic interests encompass the historical context of the MENA region, the Gulf countries, and the intricate theoretical aspects of developing cultural policies during periods of political transition.
