Alla El Kahla, Ph.D., is an early career researcher specializing in ethnomusicology with a particular emphasis on the MENA region. He earned his doctorate in Musicology from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) in Germany.

Currently, he is an independent researcher and acts as the liaison officer for Tunisia within the world network of the ICTMD. In addition, he contributes as an external researcher, academic consultant, and mentor for the DAAD-funded project “تواصل [Tawasol] Cultural Production and Policy Network”, based at Zeppelin University in Germany.

His research primarily investigates the dynamics of heritage production and the creative cultural industries, along with their implications for local development strategies in the MENA context.
