In this episode, we speak with media lawyer Mahmoud Othman about the challenges of music distribution in Egypt, and reflect on whether music distributors are a necessity or an obsolete role in today’s digital era. Mahmoud explains how a lack of transparency in contracts and revenue sharing leaves artists uninformed and underpaid. He emphasizes the need for artist education, legal support, and structured industry frameworks. We also draw parallels with the Tunisian context, offering an overview of the current music distribution scene.
