The second Tawasol workshop shifted the focus to Germany, where participants explored how artistic approaches can be used to share knowledge, inspire participation, and reimagine collaboration across sectors. Hosted by Zeppelin University, the seven-day workshop combined conceptual input with hands-on project development.
The program kicked off with a campus tour and welcoming remarks, including from the DAAD. It then moved into discussions on audience engagement, the transformative nature of art mediation, and how to build sustainable collaboration through formats such as critical glossaries and interdisciplinary residencies.
A strong emphasis was placed on co-creation: Fellows worked in groups to develop project ideas, share research interests, and reflect on challenges in transregional cultural cooperation. Several case studies—such as the Seekult Festival, Bodenseefestival, and the climate-neutral exhibition “Into the Deep” at Zeppelin Museum—offered concrete insights into community-based and environmentally aware cultural production.
Evening sessions, excursions, and informal exchanges complemented the academic programming, creating a dynamic environment for learning and relationship-building. By the end of the week, participants had developed a clearer vision of their collaborative potential and laid the groundwork for upcoming project phases.
